Southeast CT NEMBA Mountain Bike Adventure Series Ride  - Groton, CT

Date: November 6, 2022 9am - 1pm (rain date November 13)

Trail locations:

Routes will visit Bluff Point and Haley Farm State Parks, the Town of Groton’s Mortimer Wright Nature Preserve, and Groton Open Space Association’s (GOSA’s) The Merritt Family Forest.

Trail Description:

From ocean-side trails to technical singletrack, the properties offer a wide variety of terrain for all ability levels. The trails are great for hiking and there’s access to grills and beautiful sandy beaches!

Routes:

There will be 3 arrowed routes of varying lengths and difficulty including a 19+ mile “Hero” ride covering all the properties. Routes will be posted on Trailforks.com before the ride so you can combine them for more/less miles.

A led kids/family ride will depart from the registration area at 9:45 a.m. Kids must have an accompanying adult, a helmet, water and snacks, and a trail-suitable bike, and need to be listed on their adult’s registration. Pace to suit all riders.  

Registration:

Children 15 and under ride free with an adult registration and should be listed on the adult’s registration.

Online Pre-Registration is REQUIRED and is limited to 140 participants.

There will be no on-site registration. 

Registration closes at Noon on November 5

Sign up early to secure your spot!   All participants that sign up by midnight November 2 will be automatically entered into a drawing to win some prizes!!


Other Details:

Parking: Bluff Point SP has a huge parking lot at the end of Depot Rd in Groton CT. As you go south on Depot Rd, bear slightly right under the rail road bridge just after the small playground on your right and continue along the dirt road.

There is NO PARKING FEE for out-of-state cars! 

Arrows marking routes will start coming down at 12:30. The Southeast CT NEMBA Chapter will have a grill fired up at lunch time for your use and all properties are open until sunset. 

This event is a fundraiser for Southeast CT NEMBA and Groton Open Space Association (GOSA), there will be no refunds.
