RINEMBA Beginner Mountain Bike Clinic

Ever wonder what it is exactly that allows you to get over that log or rock on the trail? Want to have a better understanding of what it is you are doing on the bike, instead of thrashing about and hoping you clean that section of trail? At the Rhode Island NEMBA beginner clinic you can achieve all that and more. The event will be broken up into three successive Sundays at beautiful Grills Preserve in Westerly RI. We ask that you try to attend all three events. This event is limited to only 20 attendants so please do your best to attend if you sign up. We would not want to hold your spot and have someone else miss out if you don’t make it. Please sign up through the NEMBA event portal to attend.

Dates:

March 27th, 9am-noon

April 3rd; 9am-noon

April 10th; 9am-noon

Location:

Grills Preserve

198 Bowling Ln, Bradford, RI 02808

Fee:

This event is free to all whether you are a member or not.

Participant cap/limit: 20 attendees

Details:

Day one 3/27, 9am-noon: Day one will be focused on bike set up and bike maintenance to keep your steed running tip top for optimum fun! We will be going over emergency trailside repairs and basic bike set up. Learning how to fix a flat on a trail and keep your chain lubed are two of several basic skills we’ll go over. Please bring your bike to work on. If time allows we’ll do a short ride after class.

Day two 4/3, 9am-noon: On day two, we will dive into body position on the bike and how to balance your weight on the bike. Definitely bring your bike and helmet, because we’ll be riding.

Day three 4/10, 9am-noon: On the third day we will cover how to make your bike’s components work better for you on the trail (shifting, braking and dropper seatposts). Again this will be a riding class, so bike and helmet are required.
