  • Suggested donation $10/person.
  • Check-In & Day-of Registration starts at 8:45AM.
  • Guided beginner/family ride at 10:15AM.

Join Quiet Corner NEMBA this fall to open new trails at Pomfret Forest!

This mountain bike ride is open to all, offering a self-guided, arrowed route that explores a new trail system being built on land owned by the Town of Pomfret. QC NEMBA has completed 8+ miles of singletrack in a wooded setting adjacent to the Air Line Trail State Park (where 20+ miles of flat, gravel rail trail riding is also available).

Novice riders will enjoy winding trails with limited elevation and “go-arounds” at features. More advanced riders will appreciate fun, hand-built challenges like skinnies, bridges, berms plus rocky ridges and rollers. Advanced technical sections will be marked on trails. A guided beginner ride (for adults and/or families) will be offered at 10:15AM. Experienced, friendly leaders will determine the riding level of the group and the best route to please participants.

As part of The Last Green Valley National Heritage Corridor’s popular “Walktober” Series (offering hundreds of free outdoor adventures), this ride is donation based. QC NEMBA volunteers have contributed more than 900 hours since April to create a place for fun, passive recreation in the Quiet Corner. Please support the QC NEMBA chapter and the completion of this trail system.

Donations can be made during pre-registration, in person at the event or on the Trailforks.com app, which will feature GPS maps of all Pomfret Forest trails as they are completed.

The Quiet Corner Chapter is grateful to NEMBA for a Signature Trail Grant, which made this trail build possible. We also thank the Town of Pomfret for supporting the preservation of open space, passive recreation, and outdoor fun for many user groups.
